Cory Monteith’s First Red Carpet Since Rehab

June 9, 2013 || Written by Kristina in Interview, Press, Recent Headlines || 1 Comment »

Lookin’ good, Cory Monteith!

The Glee star made his first red carpet appearance tonight since completing a stint in rehab in April.

He and his Glee love Lea Michele were among the VIPs at the 12th annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball at a private home in the tony Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Monteith looked incredible in a grey Calvin Klein suit, white shirt with small polka dots and a matching tie.

“I think he looks great, doesn’t he?” Michele (in Valentino) gushed to me about her boyfriend. “He’s the best.”

He certainly is.

Monteith is a passionate supporter of Chrysalis, an organization that helps homeless and low-income individuals gain employment.

“Chrysalis is empowerment,” Monteith said. “It’s not just a handout. It’s empowerment. It’s taking people who just need a help up.”

Monteith entered rehab in late March. “Cory Monteith has voluntarily admitted himself into a treatment facility for substance addiction,” his rep said at the time. “He graciously asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery.”

The 31-year-old actor was first spotted out of rehab about a month later when he and Michele were photographed at LAX catching a plane for some vacation time.

It was at the Butterfly Ball last year that Monteith finally confirmed that he and Michele were a couple when he told yours truly that the two considered the evening a “date night.”

More than $1.25 million was raised tonight.

“I’m happy I could be here to support an amazing organization,” Monteith said.

And so are we.

Cory Monteith, Lea Michele Cheer Canucks in His Hometown

May 2, 2013 || Written by Kristina in Press, Recent Headlines || No Comments

Cory Monteith is out and about again – and cheering for the home team.

The Glee star, 30, who completed a return trip to rehab last month, was spotted supporting his beloved Vancouver Canucks hockey team last night in his Canadian hometown along with ever-supportive girlfriend and costar Lea Michele , 26. It’s the first time the pair has been seen together since they were briefly spotted at Los Angeles International Airport on April 26 shortly after his release.

Last night, the duo looked completely immersed in the action on the rink, rising to their feet and excitedly cheering while waving a team towel and decked out in Canucks jerseys and hats for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs series against the San Jose Sharks at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena.

Michele Tweeted a photo of herself wearing Canucks fan gear before the game. Cory retweeted her message and also Tweeted , simply, #gocanucksgo two hours later. They were his first Tweets since April 26, when he wrote “sending out big love to everyone. thank you for the continued support! It means the world to me!”

It’s no surprise Michele is so enthusiastic in her support for her beau’s favorite team – she seems behind him in every way.

“She would have been very supportive and encouraging for him to seek treatment,” a Monteith source told PEOPLE last month. “It seems like she is a very steady hand.”

Despite the enthusiasm for their hockey team, the Canucks eventually lost to the Sharks 3-1, and both Michele and Monteith were spotted putting their heads in their hands.

But all is not lost for the star’s favorite team. The playoff series resumes tomorrow.

Cory Monteith sure looks healthy and happy!

In these exclusive photos, the 30-year-old Glee star was seen on Friday out of rehab where he had checked in for substance addiction. A source tells E! News that he flew out of Antigua and to New York City solo and later reunited with girlfriend Lea Michele in Los Angeles.

On Friday morning, the real-life loves were seen at LAX, checking in for a departing flight. Lea, 26, was spotted carrying her passport, so it looks like the duo might have been going on a vacation together.
A witness tells E! News both Lea and Cory seemed “very happy, smiling the entire time.” When security asked Cory how he was doing, he said “good.” Both Lea and Cory were “friendly” to those around them, says a witness, and appeared in great moods and excited to get out of town.
They certainly deserve a little R&R! We wish Cory and Lea both the very best.

Cory Monteith Checks Into Rehab

April 1, 2013 || Written by Queen in Press, Recent Headlines || 2 Comments

No, this is definitely not an April Fools’ joke. It has been confirmed by Cory’s rep that he has checked himself into a treatment facility voluntarily. As sad as this is, we must all realize that this makes Cory an even better and stronger person than we all knew he was.

Actor Cory Monteith, who stars as Finn Hudson on the Fox series Glee, has checked into rehab, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

The actor “has voluntarily admitted himself to a treatment facility for substance addiction,” his rep tells PEOPLE. “He graciously asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery.”

Monteith, 30, has been open about his past struggles with substance abuse. He admitted in a 2011 interview that he had previously entered rehab when he was 19.

At the time, the actor said he hoped being honest about his struggle with substance addiction would help others.

“I don’t want kids to think it’s okay to drop out of school and get high, and they’ll be famous actors, too,” he said in 2011. “But for those people who might give up: Get real about what you want and go after it.”

March 7, 2013 || Written by Kristina in Candids, Gallery Update, Press || No Comments

candids > 2013 > Cory Monteith and Lea Michele out in NYC – March 6, 2013

Cory Monteith seems like one of the sweetest guys ever. The Glee stud took time to pose for photos and sign autographs for fans yesterday (March 06, 2013) as he left Cookshop in New York City.

The actor was also spotted out with girlfriend Lea Michele grabbing some lunch in the meatpacking district.

The couple are in NYC ahead of Lea’s appearance on talk show The View, and the TV star excitedly announced she was looking forward to spending some time in The Big Apple, tweeting: “NYC here I come… :),” ahead of her arrival.

So does Lea Michele credit for their coupling up?

Glee creator Ryan Murphy. At PaleyFest, Ryan himself even stated:

“I directed them in their first scene together and they had that sort of chemistry that you can’t fake, and I said, ‘Uh-oh.’ So I did kind of know. I take credit.”

We thank him for that.
